Frequently Asked Questions

OctoWash Bins – Spokane, WA Trash Bin Cleaning Service

1

Do I need to be home for your services?
No. You do not need to be at home to have your bins cleaned. Leave your bins at the curb or in your alley, and we will clean them after your regular waste disposal service.

2

Why should I have my trash, recycle, and yard waste bins cleaned?
We not only clean your bins inside and out, but our process disinfects and deodorizes them. We use water temps of approximately 200 degrees Fahrenheit which rids them of 99.9% of bacteria, germs, and viruses. Our state-of-the-art system effectively reduces health hazards such as Strep, Staph, E-Coli, Salmonella & Listeria. This cleaning process rids your bins of the odors that attract insects and rodents.

3

In what areas do you provide trash + recycle bin cleaning service?
We are servicing the greater Spokane, Washington area and are continually adding additional routes. If you are not on one of our current routes, we have one-time cleaning options available.

4

How do I update my payment information?
Click the client login button on the side of the page and log in to the portal. Once you log in, click the billing tab and insert your new card information.

5

Can I alternate which one of my bins is cleaned each service?
No. Each service plan is connected to the city tracking number on your bin to ensure we clean the bin associated with your paid plan.

6

How do I add additional bins to my service?
If you wish to add bins to your one-time or recurring service, contact us via email, phone, or text before your next service. Charges apply for each additional bin.

7

Once I sign up what day will my bins get cleaned?
Your first cleaning will be on your next recycling service day. To align with our routes your following cleaning will be: Monthly cleaning - 4 or 6 weeks after first cleaning, then every 4 weeks. Quarterly cleaning - 10 or 12 weeks after first cleaning, then every 12 weeks.

8

What is your holiday schedule?
We follow the City of Spokane and waste management trash pickup schedule and observe holidays in alignment with them.

9

Do you clean year-round?
Starting winter 2024-2025 we will be operating though the winter following our winter weather policy. If you are not serviced due to inclement weather you will not be charged.

10

What happens if the weather impacts the ability to clean my bins?
Weather in the Inland Northwest can be unpredictable, and there may be times during our season when inclement weather makes operating our equipment impossible. In this case, we will clean your bins at the earliest opportunity, usually the next day. If we cannot clean your bin, a credit will be applied to prepaid accounts.

11

Can you remove paint, tar, or other "permanent" items that have dried inside my can?
Our near 3500 psi pressure cleaning cuts through many situations but paint, tar, and other adhered materials may not fully come off. Through repeated cleanings these areas may improve over time.

12

Will my cans look like new after your service?
A. If you have newer cans, they are sure to look brand new after cleaning. If your cans are several years old, they will be clean but may have the "worn look" still present. Although we can’t take a can that is 20 years old and make it look brand new, it will be clean, sanitized, and deodorized.

13

Why wasn’t my bin cleaned?
If your bin is damaged, cracked or missing pieces that could be worsened by the cleaning process we will be unable to clean it until the issue is resolved (Contact your waste disposal service to inquire about receiving a new undamaged bin).
If your bin is not free of loose debris/waste we may be unable to clean it. Excessive animal waste will also prevent cleaning from being done. Please bag all animal waste to decrease any missed cleanings. We understand bags break and small amounts of waste will not stop our cleaning process.
If we were unable to clean your bin(s) you will be notified via text or email at the time of the missed service.

14

What if some of my bins could not be cleaned?
If any of your bins are cleaned you will be charged your normal amount, However you will be given a credit for your next service for the amount for the missed bin(s).
